As I lay in my bed one night,
The moon was shining oh so bright,
So bright it shone, I could not sleep
And rising up I took a peep
Out of my window, through the glass,
And saw there standing on the grass
A faun who smiled and beckoned me
To join him 'neath the old oak tree.
Then words he spoke, strange to my ears,
Of earthly love in ancient years,
In hopes, hearing the siren's call,
I would forsake this life of gall.
But I felt fear at what he said
And straight-way did go back to bed
Where safe within it there I lay,
Till golden sunshine told of day.

13. The Faun
(Heikkilä - McGowan) I quite like this poem – and that doesn't happen too often. Maybe it's a subconcious tribute to Arthur Machen's 'The Great God Pan'. Jore has a great gift of bringing my poems to life with his guitar. --Davy

Sorry for my unsure vocal. But many of these songs are like demos, as I probably play them first time, but same time thinking I can't play or sing them any better later. --Jore
